Doctors, Doctors and More Doctors.....

So today we went to the allergist for a check up and as we were checking in the receptionist says in passing, "She has been to the doctor a lot lately." I hadn't really thought about it, but we really have!
Brynn visits the allergist just to keep a handle on her allergies. Poor girl comes by it naturally. Her mom and dad both suffer from seasonal allergies!
At Brynn's nine month check-up our pediatrician noticed that the folds in the back of Brynn's legs were not symmetrical. This could be a sign of hip dysplagia (her hip could be out of socket) so she sent us to an pediatric ortho surgeon to get her checked out. I researched hip dysplagia in all my OT books and performed the maneuvers on her little legs and really doubted that this was the case but we went to be safe! The results......her legs are perfect! It's probably just the way her fat is displaced in her legs. No problems! This is a pic of her after her appt. The sticker says, "I had an x-ray" :)

Well, all that crawling around on the airport floor might have caught up with us last week. On Wed, I got a call from daycare saying Brynn had been fussy and was running a fever. We waited it out for 24 hours alternating Tylenol and Motrin with no relief. We went to the doctor, and her little throat was covered in blisters. She tested negative for strep. Dr. Hanson told us it was just a virus and to continue with the Tylenol an Motrin, rest and push lots of fluids.
Poor girl could not eat, she would act hungry, open her mouth for food or the bottle and then cry when it hit her throat. Thank goodness she would still nurse!
When she didn't look like this........
 She looked like this.........
 or this....
By Sat afternoon she was feeling much better!
Hopefully no more trips to the doctor anytime soon!

Happy Father's Day!

Father's day was a great day! We went to church in the morning, followed by lunch with some good friends and then my parents surprised us with a visit. Papaw needed a Brynn "fix"! She is coming into a stage where it takes her a little while to warm up to people but she had a great time visiting with Mamaw and Papaw.
I am so blessed with a great dad. I have always loved children and wanted to be a mom. It was no secret that I was not "settling" when it came to marrying. I wanted to find someone as great as my dad to be my husband and father to my children. BJ has far exceeded what I could have dreamed for! Thanks, Dad, for setting the bar high and thanks, BJ, for being an awesome husband and dad!

Brynn used to always say Mamama. Lately I can't get her to say anything but Dadada! She loves her daddy!

Over the River and Thru the Woods......

To Grandmother's house we go!

BJ was working out in Milwaukee for two weeks so we thought it was the perfect opportunity to go visit my grandmother, Brynn's great grandmother, who lives about an hour away from Milwaukee. Brynn is such a good traveler. I strap on the baby bjorn and we are off! It would be near impossible for me to travel with her alone without that thing! Below is a pic of Brynn entertaining herself with it in between flights. And yes, she is playing on the airport floor.......kind of gross but she is so mobile now it is hard to keep her contained in a chair especially since she is confined to my lap on the flights. We just washed her hands good after playing!

We didn't get in till after midnight on Thurs night, so Brynn and I hung out at the hotel and recovered from our trip while BJ was working Friday. Then we did some shopping and ate at Yummy Cheesecake Factory!

Sat morning we drove over to Lomira where my grandmother and aunt live. It was a beautiful drive. It is so pretty there this time of year. Aunt Ev made us a great home cooked meal with some delicious cream puffs for desert! So good! It was a great visit. We feel fortunate that we have opportunities to travel like this.

How can you visit Wisconsin without a trip to the local cheese factory? This place is a family favorite. I even stocked up and carried some back with me!

Sunday, The family headed to Miller Park to watch the Brewers play some baseball. It was a beautiful day. Brynn was once again, a trooper and survived all 9 innings with a short 30 min nap.

Sunday night we returned back to the hotel to watch the Mavericks pull off a WIN for the championship! So fun to watch this series! GO MAVS!!!!

Let Summer Begin

A couple of weekends ago we went to Odessa for Brynn's cousin (well second cousin's), Addison's, 1st birthday party and they had a pool. We put Brynn in and she Loved it! We then put up a baby pool at our house, which she loved also, and decided we should go all the way with a big pool! Memorial Day, BJ spent all day setting up our pool and working in the yard! We are already enjoying it so much! It is nice to walk out the back door and float around and get a little sun!

We might have to find some smaller shades that actually fit on her nose! :)

Here we go again!

A number of things have led me to blogging again. First, I have some friends that blog and I really enjoy catching up on their daily happenings. Second, I spent some time reading over my past blogs and didn't realize how much I had forgot. It made me sad that I have missed recording the first 9 months of Brynn's life in detail. I have tons of pictures but you realize when you read over posts that putting words to pictures makes the memory so much more real. I want to print yearly books as a "scrapbook" of our life events. Lastly, I was so fed up with my old computer. It was super complicated to update blogs and took a long time to download pics. I purchased a new one so here we go.....

Some of Brynn's past milestones and events since Jan:

Fri. Feb 4th at 23 weeks old Brynn finally rolled all the way over from her back to her belly. It seemed like she would never accomplish this. She was working on if for a long time. I just happened to have my phone and caught her first time on video.

Sunday, Feb 27th was the baby blessing at our church. Not only are we blessed with a beautiful little girl, we are also blessed with a great family, friends and and church home to join us in this journey. She also turned 6 months old Feb 27th! A 6 month pic our friend Monica took for us!

Brynn was blessed with 2 great grandparents that went home to be with Jesus this year! We are so glad they were able to meet Brynn even if only for a short time.

George Miller, BJ's grandad, passed away at 85, on Jan 28th. He was excited to meet Brynn! It is no secret he wanted us to have a boy too! He would always tell us, you'll have to try again for a boy and if you get another girl....try again!!

Feb 28th, after 92 great years of life, my Mamaw, Winnie May Sherman passed away. It was so much fun to see her interact with Brynn. She never wanted to put her down. We loved her so! She is greatly missed.
April 12th, at 32 weeks old, We are pretty sure she said her first word! Bye! At school she always says bye, bye with a wave. At home on the 12th we were saying bye and waving and think she repeated it! Now occasionally we think we hear Mama and dada. Could be just babble ... but we'll call it words! :)

April 24th, Brynn's first Easter. My parents, sister and brother-in-law came to lubbock. We all gathered at BJ's mom's with his sister's family for Easter lunch on Sunday and an Easter egg hunt! Found an egg!

May 6th, at 36 weeks old, Brynn officially started crawling and went from on her stomach to sitting all by herself. She was moving around on her belly when I went in the other room for a split second. I came back and she was on her bottom with a big grin. She was so proud of herself.

BJ, I and even Jasmine have to be on our toes now as she is moving ALL over! She loves her Jasmine. If she is in eye's sight, Brynn is after her!

Brynn has flown to Dallas 2 times now. Once to visit daddy while he was working and another time for Aunt Nisha's graduation from UNT on May 13th.

She does great on the plane. Goes right to sleep as we take off! She was quite the trooper those weekends being toted all over the place. She had her first trip to the Zoo after Nisha's graduation. She really could have cared less, but enjoying the beautiful day outside with family!
