So today we went to the allergist for a check up and as we were checking in the receptionist says in passing, "She has been to the doctor a lot lately." I hadn't really thought about it, but we really have!
Brynn visits the allergist just to keep a handle on her allergies. Poor girl comes by it naturally. Her mom and dad both suffer from seasonal allergies!
At Brynn's nine month check-up our pediatrician noticed that the folds in the back of Brynn's legs were not symmetrical. This could be a sign of hip dysplagia (her hip could be out of socket) so she sent us to an pediatric ortho surgeon to get her checked out. I researched hip dysplagia in all my OT books and performed the maneuvers on her little legs and really doubted that this was the case but we went to be safe! The results......her legs are perfect! It's probably just the way her fat is displaced in her legs. No problems! This is a pic of her after her appt. The sticker says, "I had an x-ray" :)
Well, all that crawling around on the airport floor might have caught up with us last week. On Wed, I got a call from daycare saying Brynn had been fussy and was running a fever. We waited it out for 24 hours alternating Tylenol and Motrin with no relief. We went to the doctor, and her little throat was covered in blisters. She tested negative for strep. Dr. Hanson told us it was just a virus and to continue with the Tylenol an Motrin, rest and push lots of fluids.
Poor girl could not eat, she would act hungry, open her mouth for food or the bottle and then cry when it hit her throat. Thank goodness she would still nurse!
When she didn't look like this........
She looked like this.........
or this....
By Sat afternoon she was feeling much better!
Hopefully no more trips to the doctor anytime soon!
